Border Guards Arrested Seven Drug Smugglers In Jazan
Border Guards in Jazan arrested seven drug smugglers who tried to bring 618 kg of hashish into the Kingdom.
They seized narcotics that were buried in a Farasan island and meant to be picked up by the smugglers’ partners.
The Border Guards’ spokesman, Col. Saher Al-Harbi, said that in the past fortnight the guards foiled the smuggling attempt by people who tried to use fishermen to mislead security men.
Al-Harbi said the smugglers comprised five Saudis and two Yemenis who buried 350 kg of hashish in a Farasan island.
By combing the area where smugglers were arrested in coordination with Drug Enforcement Agency specialists in Jazan, 268 kg of hashish was found at another site.
