Seven Injured in Delta lone Crash

Eight persons have lost their lives while seven were severely injured when a commercial bus fell off a bridge and plunged on the Itakpe-Aladja railway line which is 50 feet below.

The dead victims included six males and two females while the injured included a child and six adults, according to an eyewitness.

While the corpses of the dead victims have been deposited at the mortuary, the injured survivors were rushed to a private clinic at Agbor in Delta State for emergency treatment.

The lone crash involving the commercial bus with registration number BMA 524 XA, occurred on Tuesday around the Agbor/Ogwashi-Uku axis of the Benin-Asaba-Onitsha highway.

The eyewitness told Daily Sun that the chances of survival of the injured was very lean, and wondered what could have made the driver of the ill-fated vehicle to veer off the road.

But Delta State sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC), Mr. Rindom Kumven attributed the cause of the crash to fatigue, adding that the driver may have lost control of the vehicle.
